The Road Less Traveled

Imagine being completely single. And I mean so single that you are not going on dates or even getting approached to go on a date. While everyone is engaged, getting married, or having babies I am the friend/family member that is moving from one city to another just because that suits my life at the moment or making new friends and new hobbies at 28 years old. Sometimes it can feel like I am the third wheel or more so like I am the only one standing alone in a lot of the rooms I walk into. And that can make a person feel like there is something wrong with their life or worse something wrong with myself. I will never take away from my friends and family that are starting these new, amazing adventures of their lives. I am so unbelievably happy for them to find their loves, to celebrate it and start their families! Because of them I get to experience the joy of watching them be surprised and jump for joy on their engagement day. I get to hold their hand while they put on their wedding dress. I get to watch them be strong and courageous while carrying their first born child and laboring through to hold their precious little boy. God you have gifted me with moments I get to be apart of and learn from through the people you have placed in my life.

Even with all these blessings I still fall victim to the thoughts in my head telling me I am being left behind, look at everyone around you moving on with their lives, you aren't apart of their life, they don't want you there. And to that I say "Satan you are the one that is left behind and not wanted. So get out of my head because Jesus is the writer of my life". I am hear to tell you that every life has a beautiful story that is written by the greatest God, one that loves you and is good to you. My story is just getting started and Jesus is walking with me through the whole thing every step of the way. My story gets to be spontaneous and adventurous and intertwined with others. Each day is new and can take me anywhere. Matter of fact I am in New Jersey right now, plan to be in Florida in a couple months and then next summer I will be spending 3 months in Italy as an Au Pair! All because God kept me single, kept me on the story for my life, a life unlike anyone else.

When the thoughts get all consuming of the negative in your life stop and remember all you are able to do and look forward to because of your specific circumstances.
